Years ago, my husband and I weren't faith people like we are now, but we knew that God was real. We took our wedding vows quite seriously though we lived in a world where many people do not. This is no slam on them because we know that there are all sorts of circumstances that people face. It's just that for the two of us, marriage was a life long dream with the right person. It wasn't easy. It was worth it and God honored it.
Well, that's not my point just wanted to give you some background.
We started a habit of making a list of the things we wanted to accomplish over the next five years and we'd speak about it and as each thing happened we scratched it off the list. IT worked and we did this for many years.
OUR LIST WAS NOT A LIST TOTALLY COMPRISED OF MATERIAL THINGS; YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THIS. There were goals and objectives on there as well and we weren't "faith" people. We didn't have that advantage; you do.
And then we found out that there are biblical principles for this.
For example there is Abraham, who God called the Father of many nations before he even had children. That is amazing. Look at Romans 10: 17:
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Then we found this which Blessed us:
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2: 2
I wanted to write a book and I found this:
Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I'm encouraging you to make a list. God will give you the things that need to be on there and the things that need not be on there. Just trust Him.
