When it's hard to find faith by Elaine Davenport (Sunday, July 22, 2007)

I've tried to engage most of my faith friends in conversations about when it's hard to find faith. They don't want to talk about it or acknowledge it. It's not that they are in denial; it's just that there is a "supposition" in some circles, that you must be doing something wrong when you can't find it. Also, to be honest it's not a good position to be in. It happened to me. I was going good; staying in the Word and I got comfortable. Little by little I started doing a little less. Not noticeably to others but I knew it. I repented and got back to my position.

That's why in Ephesians Chapter Six, we are warned to:

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6: 11

Then just in case we don't know what the armour is; we are further told:

So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,

and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.

In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all (the) flaming arrows of the evil one.

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. EPHESIANS 6: 14-17

We are also told to do the following with this:

Ephesians 6:
18
With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones

THINK OF THE BOWLING ALLEY

LOOK AT EPHESIANS 6: 16. It says that if we take the shield of faith we can quench all the fiery darts of the enemy.

Imagine you throwing a bowling ball down the lane? You don't want a gutter ball. You want to be effective. You want to know down every single pin. You want a strike. Knock down every pin belonging to satan. Knock down every opposing force, idea, or thing that presents itself that goes against what you know God wants you to do. This isn't upper level Calculus; it's simple math.

I encourage you to stay prayed up and to outline every step in Ephesians 6 regarding the Shield of Faith.

If you can keep this mindset and don't let it slip; it won't be hard to find faith.
